Young Blood 2026: contest for emerging young actors.

It is a contest hosted by the Marateale Festival and dedicated to emerging young actors, hosted by the Marateale Festival and conceived and produced by DOcinema and Alice nella Città.
It provides an opportunity to connect with the world of cinema through auditions, showcases, masterclasses and meetings with industry professionals.
How can you take part in the 5th edition of Young Blood?

From today until 22 June at 2 pm, send an email to ybcontest2026@gmail.com with three photos (including one full-body shot) and your CV with contact details.
In the application email, please indicate whether you are currently represented by an agency, and if so, specify which one.
By 1 July, 40 aspiring actors from all over Italy will be selected.
In Rome on 7 and 8 July, the selected participants will perform 3-minute monologues in both Italian and English for a jury of casting directors and agents.
Candidates will be responsible for their own expenses during this phase.
The selection process is open to all, regardless of gender, gender identity, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual orientation, age or disability. This is in line with our commitment to inclusion, equal opportunities and celebrating diversity. This includes individuals who have previously participated in the contest and meet the required criteria.
The final phase will take place in Maratea on 13 July, when the finalists will be announced. They will then take part in the Marateale Festival between 20 and 25 July, with expenses covered by the organisation.
At the end of the programme, the most promising emerging talent will receive the Young Blood Award, worth €3,000. This will be presented during the Rome Festival in October 2026.
The young talents will be evaluated and selected by an international jury.
Participation requirements:
Age between 18 and 27
Excellent English language skills
Proven artistic training
Availability to take part in the contest on all specified dates.
