WHAT SHALL WE DO FOR THE RENT
WEB SERIES
based on a true story
- from the story of Mary Jane Kelly, the last victim of Jack The Ripper-
- written from the archive material of the trial case about The Ripper-
"Every Woman is a Whore
Everyone is Jack the Ripper"
The story of the last few hours of Mary Jane Kelly, who screams in the night the song of her childhood. “A violet from mother’s grave”. The word Mother and the word Murder merge tragically into each other.
Under the eyes of a fake society that feels pity for the poor women killed by Jack The Ripper, - Oh! Poor things! What a tragedy!- , with head held high Mary Jane Kelly walks her calvary till the unrelenting end. A greedy and corrupted world, where those above sleep safely, while those below sink further down. A world where the poor women, called the fallen women (mostly rape victims, orphans, non compliant people but defently all from low class) end up in the laundries, where they are subjected to physical, sexual, psychological abuse, tortured, lobotomized, and then left to rot in mass graves. Mary spits her swan song in the face of the world: The real Ripper is the society that the Human Being had build for the Human Being.
While Jack The Ripper is terrorizing the streets of London, the actor Richard Mansfield is horrifying the audience of Lyceum Theatre with his performance of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Because of his disturbing metamorphosis on stage, Mr Mansfield was indicted as unsub of the Whitechapel murders. To provoke the public opinion, Mr Mansfield, with his leading actress and wife Beatrice Cameron, staged a play about the last victim of the Ripper, Mary Jane Kelly, to enlighten the struggle of women in the slums of London.
Here, reflect upon their lives.
