Synopsis
Eva (Anne Zanner), a woman in her 30s, arrives from Germany to join Chilmark — a secluded deaf community that has turned its back on the hearing world to build something new. As she begins the group’s intense rehabilitation program, she confronts the trauma of her past and starts to reclaim her identity. Matt (20), the community’s first child and proud protégé, is assigned to support her, and through their growing bond, he begins to question the limits of his own world. In uncovering the truth, both must confront the hidden costs of maintaining a so-called utopia — and the sacrifices demanded to belong.
