Mathieu Desroses
Mathieu Desroses is a French actor, born on May 10, 1993, in Le Blanc (Indre). He gained recognition for his roles in the independent feature films “L’Attaque du Bloc d’Or” and “Enfermés et Enfer,” produced by OG Films, which will be released in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
Career and Training:
At the age of 16, Mathieu decided to join his high school theater workshop in Châteauroux to overcome his shyness. Unexpectedly, he fell in love with the art and continued practicing it until he graduated in 2014. Taking advantage of his free time, Mathieu ventured into on-camera acting through a casting announcement in the regional newspaper. He secured a supporting role in the web series “Legend” by David Pinoteau.
Following this experience, Mathieu eagerly pursued more acting opportunities, traveling across France to participate in various short films, feature films, and web series. In 2022, he decided to professionalize his training by enrolling in Cours Florent. However, he stayed for only one year, as he continued filming during his classes and felt that his acting range had not improved as much as he had hoped.
Since early 2023, Mathieu has been regularly attending casting workshops, allowing him to showcase his talents in front of industry professionals such as casting directors, filmmakers, and agents. At the beginning of 2024, he began training in voice acting and further expanded his skill set by training in stunts and stage combat.
Notable Performances:
During the summer of 2015, Mathieu landed the lead role of the famous Marquis de Lafayette in a stage play titled “Liberté,” directed by Christian Poulet. This role was the last to be cast, just one month before the performances. After his final performance, he was approached by one of the Marquis's descendants, who praised his portrayal.
In August 2024, Mathieu filmed the medium-length film “Le Destin de Julie” in Tours. That same year, the feature film “L’Attaque du Bloc d’Or” received CNC approval for a theatrical release in the autumn. “Enfermés en Enfer,” another feature film produced by OG Films, is scheduled for release at the end of 2025 and is awaiting a visa for international distribution.
Influences and Style:
Mathieu is an avid fan of the “Palmashow” sketches since their launch in 2011. He often incorporates the sarcastic and dark humor style of the duo formed by Grégoire Ludig and David Marsais into his performances. He is also a fan of the series “Caméra Café.”
He follows the daily series “Ici Tout Commence” and “Demain Nous Appartient” and dreams of acting in these programs. According to Mathieu, “it must be very stimulating for an actor to have only 2 or 3 takes per scene. A daily series must be a real mountain of constraints when playing a regular character. But that's precisely the kind of challenge and adrenaline I love.”
Current Projects:
In August 2024, Mathieu filmed in the medium-length film “Le Destin de Julie” in Tours. That same year, “L’Attaque du Bloc d’Or” was approved by CNC for theatrical release in the fall. “Enfermés en Enfer” is set to release by the end of 2025, pending a visa for international distribution.
He continues to train in voice acting as of November 2024 at Dubschool, under the guidance of Dorothée Pousséo (Anxiété in Inside Out 2, regular voice for Margot Robbie and the Olsen sisters) and Kelly.
With a promising career and diverse experience, Mathieu Desroses is an actor to watch closely, ready to take on new challenges and shine on both national and international stages.
