“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year's Shooting Stars and eagerly anticipate their future successes on the international stage.” Filmmakers
This year's EFP Shooting Stars are in Berlin ready to meet - and impress - the international film industry.

Some of the brightest talents in European cinema are about to take the spotlight. The European Shooting Stars 2025 have been announced, and Filmmakers Europe is proud to be part of this incredible journey. As a dedicated supporter of actors across the continent, we believe in the power of stories, talent, and the connections that make European cinema so unique.

This year’s ten outstanding Shooting Stars come from all corners of Europe, each bringing their own distinctive voice and artistry to the screen. Their selection by an esteemed international jury recognizes not only their exceptional performances but also their potential to shine far beyond their home countries.

This year's distinguished selection includes these ten exceptional actors: Maria Makris (Cyprus), Besir Zeciri (Denmark), Maarja Johanna Mägi (Estonia), Devrim Lingnau (Germany), Elín Hall (Iceland), Kārlis Arnolds Avots (Latvia), Šarūnas Zenkevičius (Lithuania), Lidija Kordić (Montenegro), Vicente Wallenstein (Portugal) and Frida Gustavsson (Sweden)

For over two decades, European Shooting Stars has helped launch the careers of actors who have gone on to captivate audiences worldwide. Alicia Vikander, Carey Mulligan, Daniel Brühl, Matthias Schoenaerts, Pilou Asbæk, Alba Rohrwacher—all once Shooting Stars, now internationally acclaimed. This programme has become a vital bridge, helping young actors step into the global film scene while staying true to their European roots.

At Filmmakers Europe, we have always had actors at heart. We understand the challenges, the dreams, and the determination it takes to make it in this industry. That’s why we are honored to support this year’s edition and to celebrate the incredible talent that makes European cinema so rich and diverse.
