As ambassador of the Deutschlandstiftung, Carlo Ljubek welcomes Atrin Haghdoust as a new scholarship holder of the Deutschlandstiftung Integration. On October 01, 2022, the Deutschlandstiftung Integration (DSI) will be admitting the young actor. The scholarship is also supported by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. In addition to Carlo Ljubek, the selection committee includes well-known representatives of the film industry such as acting agent Antje Schlag, casting director Anja Dihrberg-Siebler, director Soleen Yusef, press agent Jozo Jurič and producer Jonas Dornbach. Other partners of the scholarship are the Alliance of German Producers, the German Film Academy, Filmmakers and Komplizen Film.
The jury members' statement reads: 'Atrin Haghdoust, as a 23-year-old acting graduate, knows exactly what working as an actor is all about. He approaches storytelling full of curiosity and humor. He is a promising talent who skillfully incorporates social and personal contexts into his work.'
Atrin Haghdoust was born in Bruchsal, Baden-Württemberg, in 1998 to Iranian parents. After graduating from high school, he is accepted at the Folkwang University of the Arts. He will finish his studies in March 2023. On September 26, 2022 he will have his first official appearance at the First Steps Awards in Berlin.
