Born in the tiny village of Pohor, Tomas Zilinsky quickly realized the world had much more to offer than rural life. After a brief pit stop in Valasske Mezirici, he set his sights on Brno, where he joined the conservatory despite being told he'd never make it in musical theatre. To everyone's surprise he was then accepted to both musical and dramatic acting programs at Janacek Academy of Music and Performing Arts. He chose drama, studying under the legendary Nika Brettschneiderová, and earned his master’s degree while moonlighting in musicals like Steel Pier, Footloose, and Anything Goes.

Tomas doesn’t just “play” roles; he lives them. From Shakespeare’s Prospero to the fearsome Bluebeard in an immersive performance that had him drumming and singing, he’s explored it all. Want a despotic Kafkaesque father? He’s your guy. A singing, dancing Simon in Jesus Christ Superstar? Easy. Even the Lion - a drug-fueled rockstar, craves public validation through his psychedelic performances— or the Dog, torn from his mother and trained as a killer, longs for love from his tormentor—Both in Animal Farm. His roles often share a quest for recognition and a deep need to heal the world.

In front of the camera, Tomas has made his mark in films like Lucky Loser and TV shows like Labyrinth, Specialiste, and 1. Mise. Frustrated by the lack of juicy roles, he took matters into his own hands, creating the improvisation-based web series Hraj něco! (Act something’), which featured big-name Czech actors such as Vojta Kotek, Michal Istenik, Albert Cuba. The series premiered at Brno’s Scala cinema.

When not acting, Tomas juggles projects like founding Brasil Fest Brno, producing charity live streams, and drumming in multiple bands, including OKno and Jenny & the Machine Elves. He also dabbles in piano, guitar, emergency clown and floorball.
