While earning a degree in Visual Communications, Sofia studied acting at the John Frey Studio for Actors in Lisbon. She later moved to New York City, where she spent three years honing her craft at the Atlantic Acting School, developing a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary performance.

Her acting credits include lead roles in the feature films Alice, Nova Iorque e Outras Histórias (released in Portuguese cinemas in 2020 and broadcast on RTP in 2024) and Erros Meus, Má Fortuna, Amor Ardente (premiered on RTP in 2023). She also starred in and produced the short Samanta: Má Ou Santa, which won Best Film of the Year and earned her the Best Actress award at the 48hFP, later representing Portugal at Filmapalooza 2022 in Washington D.C..

As a hearing-impaired actress, Sofia actively advocates for greater inclusivity and representation on screen, drawing on her personal experience to push for meaningful change within the industry.

She is currently developing Listen To My Lips, a dramedy series inspired by her own experience with progressive hearing loss, which won the Pitching Forum at FEST New Directors New Films Festival 2025. With this project, she was selected as one of 36 emerging producers worldwide for the Match Me initiative at the Locarno Film Festival 2024.

Sofia recently finished filming the short film O Filho da Cartomante, where she played one of the lead roles.

Passionate about bold and inclusive storytelling, she aims to portray complex, authentic characters and bring underrepresented voices to the forefront of contemporary cinema.
