I was born in Leeds, England. My dad’s British, my mum’s Ukrainian and Russian. I’ve got a Dutch and a British passport, but no real connection to the Netherlands. My parents used to travel the world as a magician duo and took me along for the ride. We never stayed in one place for more than two years, and only when I was 11 did we finally settle down in Berlin. The circus ring always felt more like home to me than any country.
And now, after studying acting, German has pretty much become my mother tongue.
