Philip was born and brought up in the Jewish community of Istanbul in Turkey. He moved to London as a late teen and trained at RADA. 
Since then, he has worked as an actor both for stage and on camera in English, Turkish, French and Italian. 
 
In the theatre, he has played supporting and leading roles at the National Theatre, in the West End and in most major UK theatres creating several roles for world premieres by writers such as Richard Bean, Ryan Craig and JT Rodgers. He has collaborated with directors such as Bartlett Sher, Jeremy Herrin, Rachel Chavkin and Yael Farber.
On TV he first became known for his portrayal of Uday Hussain in House of Saddam (BBC/HBO) and has played regular roles in several TV series since. He has worked in the UK, Italy and Turkey working with writer/directors such as Hugo Blick, Berkun Oya and Manetti Brothers.
On film he worked with masters including Terence Malick, Noah Baumbach, Ridley Scott and Reha Erdem.
