I am a educator / mentor working primarily with young people who are deemed Special Educational Needs. I also support those young people who have been diagnosed with Social Emotional Mental Health ( SEMH) alongside that I volunteer in the community supporting families in their homes who have children
displaying serious anti- social behaviour. The ability to read and interpret body language, maintain a calm exterior when chaos is all around has enabled me to be deemed as an expert in the field of child behaviour. The skills I have learned working in the most challenging environments ( including my past work within the prison system) are the same skills I am taking into my new calling, the world of Drama, but drama without the real possibility of being injured or attacked. I am also a Appropriate Adult ( AA)within the criminal justice system which means I can attend the custody suite of a police station to support a young person with their legal rights where a parent / guardian is unavailable. Every piece of my work needs multiple characters and each one needs to be authentic in order to create an atmosphere of trust and my success comes from finding pieces of me in all these young people.
