My name is Mohammad Sadeghi, Iranian queer actor, and activist.

 

Back in 2022 and during the women-life-freedom movement in Iran, as a well-known actor in my country, I supported the movement and the rights of the LGBTQ+ family, and the existence of all the government's humiliation and repression was the voice of people's protest in the virtual and real space every day. I wanted to make their pain and suffering known to the world and in this way, I have lost my job position forever until the recent accident happened to me and I have practically lost my home, life and security.

One morning a large number of armed security officers attacked my house, and from the moment they broke down the door to the last moment when I was hanging from the third floor window, I created more dramatic pictures of this crime live on my Instagram page that this is the only documentary of the brutal arrest of government agents throughout history that has been recorded, and it was heavily broadcasted in the virtual space and news media including (Iran International, BBC, ManoToTV, etc.). I was arrested arbitrarily and unjustly sentenced to spend five years in prison by the Islamic Republic of Iran Judicial Court. I was in prison for a while and was then free on bail. After consulting with several attorneys and experts I decided to leave the country and I crossed the border to Turkey in late December 2023. Currently I am settled in Paris, France.
