Maria Arrais was born in Cascais, Lisbon, Portugal in 2003.
She has felt a great passion for acting from a very early age, having her debut in A Única Mulher (2015-2017, Portugal) at only eleven years old. This eagerness grew along side her and she began top study acting professionally at fifteen years old in Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais (EPTC) and later had her bachelors at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (ESTC) while working in projects such as Espelho D'Água, A Prisioneira, Uma Vida Toda Empatada, Quaranteens, A Traição do Padre Martinho, Rua das Flores, Um Beijinho and Morangos Com Açúcar.

In Theatre she has been in productions such as Os Gigantes da Montanha, La Nonna, What Happened to Mana Lúcia and Um Cigarro e Quatro Pares de Ténis.
She was nominated for Best Actress In A Leading Role by "Prémios Curtas" for her performance in Um Beijinho.

She has a background in Contemporary Dance, having also studied ballroom dances such as Tango, Waltz, Polka, Rock and Charleston. She has studied stage combat and artistic fencing. She knows how to swim, rollerblade, ride a bicycle and drive a car. She is fluent in Portuguese (native) and English (having the British Council Proficiency Exam- C2). She also speaks some Spanish, French and American Sign Language (ASL).
