Marco Maccieri was born in Reggio Emilia in 1977 to a family of winemakers. In 2004 he graduated as an actor from the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan. In his professional career as an actor he works with artists such as Luca Ronconi, Maurizio Schmidt, Daniele Abbado, Gabriele Vacis, Michael Mann, Massimo Navone, Stefano Mordini, Anna Di Francisca, and Maria Consagra. In 2004 he founded the MaMiMò Theatre Center in Reggio Emilia, where he also began directing, dramaturgy and teaching, and has been its artistic director ever since. Since January 2010 he has been in charge of programming at the Piccolo Orologio Theater in Reggio Emilia, and since 2024 at Officine Creative Reggiane.
He has devoted much of his career to the study of the acting art and pedagogy. He was a student of the master Anatolij Vasil'ev with whom he graduated as a pedagogue in the three-year school Pedagogy of the Scene (UBU Prize 2013); since then he has been a teacher of role-playing in the AFAM Acting course at the Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi in Milan, and since 2015 he has also been its pedagogical coordinator. Since 2016 he has also been teaching acting at the Civica Accademia d'Arte Drammatica in Udine.
In 2018 he was entrusted by the “Fondazione I Teatri” of Reggio Emilia with the direction of the children's opera “Il piccolo spazzacamino” by Benjamin Britten.
In 2019, he wrote for Dino Audino Editore the acting manual “Il lavoro invisibile dell'attore” in collaboration with Marina Gorla and Luca Zangheri.
From 2023 to 2025, he is entrusted with the artistic coordination for the Italian part of the Creative Europe project “Theatre in Palm”.
