Julien Francfort studied information and communication sciences before joining the drama class at the Conservatoire of Angers in 2018.

In March 2021, deprived of any artistic classes – due to the closure of art schools during the Covid-19 pandemic – he and a few fellow students launched a movement to occupy Le Quai Theatre, national drama center of Angers. There, they established "The National School of Self-Education of Angers", where guest artists and researchers shared and passed on their expertise to the students occupying the theatre.

In 2022, he joined ERACM, the National Higher School of Theatre in Cannes and Marseille, where he worked with many international artists. In May 2025, he performed in "GR31", written by Amine Adjina and directed by Émilie Prévosteau, the class’s mentors.

In June 2025, at the Nest Theatre, the national cross-border drama center of Thionville, he created "Transfrontaliers", a morning performance along the A31, the motorway that takes cross-border workers to Luxembourg.

Supported for 3 years by the Hermès Foundation through the "Artistes dans la Cité" grant, he took part in the "Avant toute chose" mentoring project, launched in September 2025 at the MC93 in Bobigny with Régine Chopinot, Phia Ménard and Aurélie Charon.

In autumn 2025, he began work in French Polynesia on the short film "Yves", a performative documentary portrait of a man’s itinerant journeys.

He currently lives in the Grand Est region of France and works throughout the country, most notably with the Nest Theatre, where he has been a permanent actor since 2024.

In 2027, he will appear in the next production by Amine Adjina and Émilie Prévosteau (Compagnie du Double) at the Théâtre de l’Union, the national drama center of Limoges, and also in the production of "Dylan et le fantôme", written by Thomas Flahaut, a one-man show set in a classroom, co-produced by the  National Theatre of Liège and the Nest Theatre.
