A graduate of Balleteatro Escola Profissional, he is a Portuguese actor, artistic director of DOIS, and one of the most accomplished performers of his generation. With a career deeply rooted in theatre, he has worked with some of Portugal’s most influential directors, including Jorge Silva Melo, Ricardo Pais, Luís Miguel Cintra and Nuno Cardoso, performing on renowned stages such as Teatro Nacional São João, Teatro Nacional D. Maria II and São Luiz Teatro Municipal. His extensive experience—both as an actor and director—has shaped an intense, versatile and meticulous performer.

In audiovisual work, he has built a consistent and high-quality path. In cinema, he has collaborated with filmmakers such as Hugo Vieira da Silva, Tiago Guedes, Marco Martins, António-Pedro Vasconcelos, Patrícia Sequeira and Pedro Varela, and appeared at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival with the feature Posto Avançado do Progresso. On television, he has taken part in series such as Equador, Conta-me Como Foi, Madre Paula, Sara and Causa Própria, gaining international visibility with the hit series Vikings (MGM/History Channel for HBO), in which he portrayed Bishop Leon.

A member of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema since 2016, he served on the jury that selected Portugal’s Oscar submission in 2019. He was awarded both the Globo de Ouro and the Prémio Autores for Best Theatre Actor in 2023 for his performance in O Misantropo, and was nominated for Best Film Actor at the CinEuphoria Awards.
