 Garance Chansigaud is a French actress, director and screenwriter currently based in Copenhagen. After studying double bass and singing at the CRR in Paris, she received her performing arts degree from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. In 2014 she founded her production company, Mad Girls. Through which she directed and produced several short films including: “De l’autre côté du miroir”, “Et si les murs pouvaient parler” and “Il y a une voix”. The latter in collaboration with producer Sidsel Filippsen. In Denmark, she performed in “4:48 Psychosis”, Not I” and "Agnes of God". She has also appeared in Danish films such as “Rose” directed by Niels Arden Oplev, “What is a muse” and “Selvportræt” directed by Sofia Due Rosenzweig, along with a role in television show “Carmen Curlers” on DR. Since 2020, she has been developing the limited series “Lobotomy” created in collaboration with the Danish historian Jesper Vaczy Kragh, author of the book “Danemark Lobotomy Nation” and American actress/screenwriter Brittney Mignano. The series is set during the late 1940’s in the psychiatric world. Currently, she is in the process of writing her first feature documentary with the guidance of Norwegian producer Anne Köhncke.
