About me

View profile
Ercan Oezcelik moved to Germany with his parents at the age of 5. Today, he is a trained German theater, film, and television actor with international experience and trilingual skills. With over 37 years of professional experience, his wide repertoire spans various genres, allowing him to bring multifaceted characters to life with passion. He has been discovered for various lead and supporting roles for a million-strong audience, including as a "Tatort" commissioner, a detective in a U.S. film, a Spanish Guardia Civil in a German TV movie, as well as various doctors, bankers, gangsters, artists, social workers, diplomats, and comedic characters in costume films, and at state theaters.

He made his breakthrough as an established German TV actor with the RTL medical series "OP ruft Dr. Bruckner," where he played the lead role of the neurologist and naturopath Dr. Behroz from 1996 to 1998. From 2001 to 2002, he took on the significant role of "Tatort" commissioner Bülent Isi. His selection as one of the top 10 actors was an honorable recognition, and the comedic nuances of his role in the pilot film made him popular with over 10 million viewers.

He also appeared in international films, including as the Mexican Ricardo in the American-Israeli co-production "The Man Who Saved the Internet with a Sunflower" by Emil Ben-Shimon and Ori Yardeni, as Osman Celik in the American-Hungarian co-production "In the Same Garden - The Disappearance" by Roger Deutsch and Gabor Holtai, and as Detective Metin in the American-German co-production "Fay Grim" by Hal Hartley - alongside Parker Posey and Jeff Goldblum.

Many of the film and television projects have been awarded, including the German Film Award, the Adolf Grimme Award, the award from the German Academy of Performing Arts, as well as international prizes.
