Cornelia Mercedes Dexl grew up in Graz, Austria, as the second of seven children. Her stage journey began with a kindergarten debut as the Rainbow Fish – and from then on, there was no stopping her. She went on to perform in various play clubs, on stages and in choirs in Graz (TaO!, Das Podium, Next Liberty, Singschul’ of the Graz Opera, Schauspielhaus Graz). To broaden her later acting profiles, Cornelia also trained as a competitive swimmer, became a violinist, learned piano, joined a handball club, attended a music-focused high school, and eventually pursued both journalism and medical studies (gaining professional experience as a journalist and physician) before feeling fully equipped to begin her acting studies – which she joyfully commenced in 2020 at the Zurich University of the Arts. As part of her studies, Cornelia also spent a semester at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she appeared in the production of Moby Dick (directed by Lorenz Nolting) at the Schauspielhaus Graz. In the 2023/2024 season, she was a member of the acting studio at Theater Chemnitz. Since receiving her bachelor’s degree in 2024, she has been working as a freelance actress and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in film acting at HKB in Bern.
