In 2012 the Northern Ireland born plasterer walked from an NYC building site to an Irish Repertory Theatre EPA (Open Call Audition), and a new career. Impressing the prestigious theatre's leadership, Ciaran booked the role, making his pro' acting debut alongside a host of Broadway veterans in, Brian Friel's, "The Freedom Of The City." Handandpicked by Steven Spielberg, the former construction worker made his U.S. television debut in a recurring role alongside Brian Dennehy, Michael Rapaport, and series creator, Edward Burns, on TNT's critically acclaimed police drama, "Public Morals." Upon his return to the theatre, Ciaran was named Origin Theatre's Spirit Of The Festival Award recipient, for producing and directing, "Bloody Sunday: Scenes From The Saville Inquiry," at New York City's Irish Arts Center, and received critical acclaim for his acting work, in The Irish Repertory Theatre's new play "Made By God," and their Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominated revival of "Philadelphia Here I Come." Ciaran can be seen in Marvel Studios upcoming second season of "Daredevil: Born Again," and his latest feature film, the Michael Mailer directed "Little Audrey," in which he plays Father Luke McAteer, alongside Emily Vancamp, Aidan Quinn, Jennifer Esposito, and his daughter Mabel Byrne, will be receiving a U.S. theatrical release in summer, 2026. Continuing his film work the Irishman is set to begin filming his next feature, "The Best Friend," directed by Jennifer Gelfer, in which he will play fictional Tony Award winning theatre director, Jedediah Malachi, alongside a host of Hollywood Royalty. "The Best Friend" will be released theatrically in the U.S. in the fall of 2026. Ciaran is a father of two daughters (girl dad:), a U.K. U.S. & Irish Citizen, with Ireland/UK and U.S. bases, and was recently awarded the level of Shodan/Black Belt, in Kyokushin Karate (full contact/knockdown), with a specialty in martial arts weaponry, Tonfa and Bo-Staff.
