Alexis Vandist, born in Brussels in 1997, is a multidisciplinary artist, teacher, actor, and director who graduated from INSAS.

In 2018, he participated in a workshop that fundamentally changed his approach to the stage and performing. He then turned his attention to physical and choreographic practices. He went on to co-found the theater-dance-performance collective Body Politic, which questions the place of the body and the heart in our contemporary societies. With a dozen European artists (Belgium, France, Italy, Catalonia), they created their first show in 2021 and are currently working on a second one. At the same time, he continues to explore various more physical theatrical approaches with Nathalie Béasse, Eugenio Barba, the Still Life company, and Peeping Tom.

However, he remains interested in text, a fertile ground for powerful fiction and poetic shifts. He has participated in several projects, such as the “Histoires Courtes” festival at Le Corridor (Liège), “Habiter la ville, habiter la Terre” (directed by Sophie Delacolette) at the Théâtre National, the children's show “Le ventre des sirènes” (written by Alexandra Bouron),  “Anastasis” (directed by Eugenio Barba) at the National Theater in Budapest, and “Jamais Plus” (directed by Jeanne Dandoy) at the Théâtre des Martyrs.

He is also interested in research in theater studies. He obtained a master's degree in performing arts (ULB) in 2024 and wrote a thesis on stage presence.

Recently, he co-founded his dance-theater company with Gaëlle Vatrican, whose first project, “Tenalach,” will premiere in January 2028 at the Théâtre des Brigittines.
