I speak through motion and silence — I write poetry and dance it, letting text and body say the same thing differently. I adapt quickly to new roles and accents, moving between English, Russian, and Latvian, and I take on challenges that scare me — steep ski slopes as a beginner, a poetic performance to enter Moscow’s Schepkin Institute, a stage in China after five years away from choreography. My dog, it seems, understands me better than anyone — once I read shock in her eyes, and we both decided it was a recognition of my talent.
